The bed was super comfy, and the free Wi-Fi worked great during the evening. Though I hoped for the pub next door to be open, the overall location was a solid spot for my trip.

The location was peaceful and charming, an ideal base for exploring Derbyshire's beautiful countryside.
The check-in process felt disorganized. I retrieved my room key from a side door and there was no staff available to assist during my stay.

The location was perfect, with a grassy area right next to the pub, which provided a quaint ambiance. The free Wi-Fi worked well in the evening, and I found the bed to be comfortable, making my stay pleasant.
Room amenities were somewhat basic, lacking more thoughtful touches that could enhance the experience.

oh where to begin? the moment I arrived, the owner casually handed me keys in his dressing gown—so classy. my room was just delightful, if you love stains on bedding and zero amenities, like soap! I was also hoping for complimentary breakfast since I had to endure this nightmare of a stay. almost left a good review but just couldn’t.

The pub facilities promised were a key selling point, creating an appealing ambiance, even though they were unfortunately unavailable during my stay.
Checking in was a rather odd experience. I had to retrieve my room key from a side door with no one around. The room cleanliness left much to be desired, with an uncomfortable bed and a broken bathroom door handle that required creative solutions to open. I expected more after seeing photos and the mention of food and drink provisions, but the bar was completely closed, which was a significant letdown, especially for the price I paid. Communication was solely over the phone due to the absence of staff. No breakfast was available, which added to the disappointment.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay—For All the Wrong Reasons
Our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The building was dark, and the owner’s lack of hospitality made things worse. We found the room unclean and lacking basic amenities. We left within an hour, feeling quite unsettled.
